 “Money and Success & The Kindness of Strangers”

If you’ve ever seen the 1951 movie A Streetcar Named Desire, based on Tennessee Williams’s 1947 Pulitzer Award winning play, you’ll agree when I say you are no Blanche DuBois. You’d be the first to slam the door on poor sweaty Stanley Kowalski, no matter how hot Marlon Brando was able to make this blue-collar man-animal character appear on the big screen. Your love of comfort and fixed earthly logic usually prohibits anything new or unusual to step over the threshold of your lovely home.

I don’t mean to imply you should invite the next axe-murderer or raggedly handsome gas station attendant from the middle of nowhere into your life, but I am going to suggest that first impressions are not always accurate, particularly this month when a stranger you meet may have the potential to influence your worldly desires in a big way – which includes the practical stuff finances and career. You may not recognize this person’s cosmic force at first, which is my point: I dare you to keep an open mind!

February is one of your best money and success months of the year! You should begin to see the wheels turning in your favor beginning the 6th with Mercury and the New Moon in Aquarius. By the 17th Venus will join the two in the same sign. A raise or promotion is not out of the question. But remember, Mercury will be in retrograde until the 18th, which means any deals made may take a while to come to fruition. But that’s all part of the package.

Okay, back to the kindness of strangers (even though it didn’t work for crazy ol’ Blanche DuBois) - this will be a challenging month when it comes to relationships. Have you been struggling with a romance or friendship that’s been difficult and draining, yet hard to let go? By the 20th when a Full Moon in Virgo lights up your romantic house, it’s possible you’ll realize it’s best to move on. Lucky for you, good times will outweigh the bad for the moment and you’ll find plenty of opportunities for socializing and dating. So give someone new a whirl or a twirl and jump on the next bouncy hayride that has your name on it!

“A trout in the pot is better than a salmon in the sea,” as the Irish saying goes. In a recent poll that measured how happy citizens in various countries considered themselves, Ireland placed as number one. So, I’ve chosen this proverb for you. This is not to say that contentment is what comprises happiness, instead what interests me about this little adage is that you, Taurus, have a month ahead that calls upon your grounded nature.

You have planted some seeds in the realm of health, home, and career, and this month you will see a few young sprigs rising to the surface. These will be small indications of progress but you will feel deep satisfaction as you get the first answers to the hopes you’ve planted not too long ago. In addition, there are still seeds that have not sprouted, which are growing pregnant with potential. The ground has been made fertile with all the care you’ve put into your garden, and you can expect a slow and steady growth even if you are only seeing the very early stages of your investment.

What’s key here is understanding that you are in fact at the very early stages of what you’re growing, and you should embrace the experience of watching things grow instead of wondering too much about the future. You are exactly where you need to be, and though this is said time and time again, I’ll say it anyway, live in the moment, Taurus. For many of the other signs, September presents a wake-up call that forces their focus towards the future, but the opposite is true for you. So, stay grounded, there is much more that has yet to grow, and you have an unique opportunity to sit back, smile, and enjoy the aroma of a young and healthy garden.
